Aeromagnetic Survey
Bonnet Plume Basin, Yukon, and Peel Plateau, Northwest Territories

(Published January 24, 2003)

This is the fifth phase of the GSC's aeromagnetic survey program covering the Mackenzie Corridor region with high-resolution aeromagnetic data that will assist in the assessment and development of potential targets for hydrocarbon exploration. The current survey, flown in the spring of 2002, and consisting of 28 400 line kilometres of traverse and control lines, was monitored by the GSC and carried out by Fugro Airborne Surveys. Normal line spacing for the traverses was 800 m and 2 400 m for the control lines, all flown according to a draped surface at a nominal ground clearance of 200 m.

This project was jointly funded by the Geological Survey of Canada, Oil and Gas Management Branch, Government of Yukon and the CS Lord Northern Geoscience Centre, N.W.T.
