Aeromagnetic Survey
Central Gaspésie Peninsula, Quebec (2004)

(Published August 02, 2005)

A high-resolution aeromagnetic survey was flown in 2004 over a portion of the central part of the Gaspésie Peninsula and northern New Brunswick. The survey, consisting of 55 600 line-kilometres, was carried out by Fugro Airborne Surveys of Montréal, Quebec. Normal line spacing was 300 m for the traverses and 3000 m for the control lines at a nominal ground clearance of 120 m.

The survey was funded by Natural Resources Canada's Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI) 2003-2005, Hydro-Québec, and Junex Inc. The maps were produced as part of the Hydrocarbon Potential in the Paleozoic Frontier Basins of the Canadian Appalachians project as a contribution to the Consolidating Canada's Geoscience Knowledge program of the Earth Sciences Sector, Natural Resources Canada.
