A high-resolution aeromagnetic survey was flown over a large area of southern Boothia Peninsula in central Nunavut. This current survey, consisting of 102 000 line-kilometres of traverse and control lines, was monitored by the GSC and carried out by Fugro Airborne Surveys of Montréal, Quebec. Normal line spacing was 400 m for the traverses and 2400 m for the control lines, all flown according to a draped surface at a nominal ground clearance of 150 m.

This aeromagnetic survey and the production of these maps were funded by Natural Resources Canada's Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI) 2003-2005, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (Nunavut Regional Office) and the Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office. They were produced as part of the Boothia Peninsula Integrated Geoscience Project and are a contribution to the Northern Resources Development Program of the Earth Sciences Sector, Natural Resources Canada.
