Selected GSC borehole geophysical datasets are available, free of charge, for viewing and downloading using the mapping application. The data include various sensor types, metadata, images of geological and geophysical logs, and raw data.
These data can be viewed using LOGVIEW software, available for free download.
The data are provided as zip (compressed) files consisting of varying degrees of processed data, as well as image files:
File Descriptions
The majority of files in the borehole geophysical data layers can be processed with LOGVIEW software. Full descriptions of file types, as indicated by the format of the file extension, are available from LOGVIEW.
File extensions that can be directly imported into LOGVIEW include:
Note: LOGVIEW files with only two letters in the extension may have an additional letter (e.g. *.AZT, *.AZP) to help the user identify files during various stages of processing.
Metadata
Metadata required to process and interpret data for each borehole is available by clicking on the
icon on the data layer.
