Laurentian Basin Multichannel Seismic Data

Laurentian Basin Seismic Program

The survey was shot for the Geological Survey of Canada in 1984 and 1985 by Geophysical Services Inc and Western Geophysical, to map the geological structures of a key offshore area in preparation for Canada's boundary negotiation with France. It consists of 29 lines, representing 3100 km of 2D multi-channel seismic data.

The data release includes 3 products:

  1. Post-stack migration digital seismic data (SEG-Y format) created in the mid-1980s
  2. Pre-stack migration digital seismic data (SEG-Y format) created in 2006
  3. The original unprocessed seismic shot data

The migrated data files are available for download, free of charge. The unprocessed (raw) data will be available upon request for a copying fee only.

NOTE: Shot points for both stack datasets have been adjusted due to irregularities in shot-to-trace relationship.
